STO: Hello Mr. space bar

My wife is really starting to not like STO. Mainly for having to spam the Space bar every time I want to fire. And I want to fire ALOT.

I mention to my wife about the new 1.1 patch having the spacebar turn on auto-fire. She says I am now allowed back in the bedroom!

I was thinking that when I hit level cap I would get bored of the game. But I have found that I still enjoy doing 15 minute mini-missions.

That and it is a much slower paced. HEHE, well nothing can get much slower then mining. So what I mean is there is no pressure since there is a very weak death penalty.

A friend of my wifes, and now mine, started asking questions about STO and Eve. I filled him in the best I could (there is alot of info that gets convoluted in EVE). I did have a free 10 day trail card from my SE STO box. He likes it so much, he is willing to sell his WOW account on craigslist. I was a little stunned, I didnt think STO was that powerful.

He must be playing the federation side

Wahoo. Choices.....

Oh my mining, oh my mining, ohhhhhh myyy mining clemintime.

Did an orca load last night. Got to looking at trit prices and in the 3 regions around me - they have drop below accptable levels.

Plus the fact I need my alt to have a jump clone.

Plus the fact that I want my alt to start the passive income that is Research and Development.

This translates to grabbing a myrmidon and crunching through level 3s.

It is very true that level 4s have a better payout, but the time and energy investment in it makes it not worth it to me.  Maybe when I get a Golem or Kronos I might try them again.

But I have enough on my plate as is.

Welcome to (pew pew......BOOM)

What a day.

So the last note was a slant on "I joined a null-sec alliance". Just a bit more colorful.

And with it was introduced to running the pipeline and jumping into a 20 man gate camp. Gotta say my fight or FLIGHT response was going. Had shakes and everything.

When I got to the new home pocket. The rocks there suck. So after some thought I decided I needed a few more skills before I live there.

ie. I went back to high sec mining. I want to get my rent money set aside. Then work on 2 ships. T3 gate runner and a cyno ship.

Last night I got my alt and my main back together and commenced to crunching rocks. Nothing was on TV that my wife and I both wanted to watch. So I settled in for some Internet  surfing (and no, not that kind).

As I was reading about SW; The Old Republic, my strip miners finished a round. Clicking on the cargo hold and moving the ore I noticed CONCORD all over the place. With a pod floating around.  I sent a few emails back and forth. Just curious about a suicide gank. He said I didn't appear to be a macro. How could he tell I don't know. Still dodging that bullet was freaking close.

I set him to red, and just logged for the night.

I promptly died 10 times in STO.

My new worst enemy

(note: this is a melodrama, supposed to be silly. If this appears to be a slam. Then I did not get my point across.)

Curses....

So now my I have a new worse enemy. Much worse then those evil rocks I have been beating into submission these last 4 years.

Even worse - if that's possible - then listening to that level 4 agent grill me, yet again, about having to run out to a warehouse to get her a bottle of wine. By now, I say she can choke on it.

My enemy eats his evil pancakes with that extra-evil buttery syrup. (this is a SW:TOR reference)

Him in his high and mighty SUUUUUPPPPPEERRRRRR carrier.
Me? well I have some duck tape and bailing wire...

Who is this masked man of mayhem?

Who is this criminally pilot flying the dementedly dastardly dirigible?

No other then....

Thats right Kirith Kodachi!!

Look on the face of ruthlessness!!!
(the evil mustache I helped along)
(and the goatee...)

Why is this man the bane of all existence?

That is simple. I finally moved into null sec and got into an alliance. After careful planning and orchestrating events (read - get off my dead butt). The opportunity landed at my feet. And it just happen to be on this side of the map!

So I say, I not bad.....he bad!!

Him and his evil pancakes!!!

All Alone in his tiny SUPERship. haha!!! WE all know what Anakin can do to a drone ship!!!!

(Too bad it is the wrong game for that....CURSES!!!)

Well we know who is the Dog and who is the CAT now, don't we!!!!

Fell for the 'ol sitting on the head while looking innocent trick. Again.

I'll get you my pretty!!!! yes!!! I will!!!!

Request for questions

In trying to be non-political, I am going to try to get an interview with the Public Relations officer for the Paxton Federation.

Are they any non-security questions out there that you would liked asked?

And is there anyone out there ( -cough- Kirith -cough- ) who knows who the Public Relations officer is?

Thank you

The circle of Lost Letters

So there I was,

Naked in a hot-tub full of Cheeze Wiz. And not a cracker in sight.......

The whole not being responded to was driving me crazy. It's like trying to find a real job. You hunt and hunt. Go through applications and interviews. You think that everything went really well. Then you wait and you wait. The acceptance or rejection letter never comes. It is a frustrating experience.

But I hate to intrude on people. I really do. Last night though, I decided to strike up a convo and find out. The first thing he said was that he has gotten a few comments on the interview (good ones). That always makes me feel good, just knowing that someone listens. I ask him if he recieved my evemail.  Lo and behold it was burried in his Inbox. So after a little bit of him hand walking me through the process and getting the lo down on the rules ( which I don't have a problem with ) I tried to apply for the alliance.

For all those kiddies out there that also didn't know.  Only the CEO can apply for an alliance. Now I have to wait to see if my friend will transfer control to me for a week to get the bugs worked out.  Or will do it himself.

But suddenly there is color in the world again.  As I am no longer stuck in limbo wondering if he got my eve mail.

Hmmmm, wonder if my friend got my email?  ......... ( the circle continues )

Disgruntled

Well it seems I am taking the silent treatment pretty hard. I am starting to get into the funk.

I looked over at M3. The Paxton Federation Corp, they are needing good fighters. But it is not a good fit for me or my Corp. Still if anyone wants to get into a tight nit group - you couldn't go wrong there.

I glanced at City of heroes new expansion. I have 3 of the 5 sets on the mastermind class upto the boss pet. And everyone of them I lost intrest shortly thereafter. Looked at their new. Demon summoning set. Intresting, but I don't see what the buffs are. Still looking. In the end it's not enough to change my mind about returning to the game.

Looked at Star Wars : The Old Republic new video. I was wanting better graphics. It's not that I am not going to play it.  It is just I wanted dust movement when fighting in a desert. Wind blowing in the mountains. That sort of thing.

Work calls.  Looks like it is going to be a busy day.

So for the typos. No time to proofread

Just not into it

Either nothing is going on or I'm too tired to remember it. You decide.

General whines.

Man the freighter is slow. I fell asleep last night for 20 minutes waiting for the warp. Wahoo for high sec.

Still annoyed that I lost my blockade runner due to not understanding.

No word from  the Alliance.  Assuming they are busy with a contract. After a week I will write it off.

Moved stuff around. Now there is some exciting info.

Are fighters really worth it?  Fighter-bombers are anti-Cap. And fighters can't hit anything less the battleship. I guess if you are going against a couple of battleships then yeah. But most of those have buddies.

Have a great weekend

Acinom > HHAHAHAHAAH
Acinom > I lasted about 15 seconds... and was at about 400 m/s
Shadoen > you had enough to stay out there huh?
Acinom > I could have saved my ship and mined with hearld!!!!
Shadoen > well poop.
Acinom > HHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
Acinom > I think I will file that under lesson learned

The interview

We setup the time and place. I got my notes printed out, and went onto vent.

After dinner - around my normal bed time. We started. Asuka Smith is very nice and forgiving. About 7 questions into the interview I glance up to see that I was not recording in Ventrilo Anymore.

My record as the unprofessional is still secured.

After that the interview flowed pretty well. No more forgetting to record. That always helps.

Next day, the 30 minutes interview took 4 hours to edit. And that is with no video. There are a few more details that need to be address then the interview hits the airwaves.

I started throwing in comercials. Really they are just pieces of movies or TV shows that I like.  Just another random idea I had.

After the interview I thought about what Asuka said and came to the conclusion that I could do this. So I pestered my CEO to get the green light to go ahead and join the alliance. For the cost of 100 mil I think it is nice to have a spot in 0.0. I can mine 100 in a week of high sec veldspar mining. So it will intesting up see.

My thought is after I jump throught the application hoops to have the alt - not in the alliance fire up the hulk in high sec and go back to non-Orca mining. At the same time take the cloaky recon ship (Buzzard) and go scout out/make bookmarks in the new system. Also means I need to get my alt to learn and dropping cyno feilds and covert ships.   Figure I would spend a week in local listening and watching traffic.

I am the UNPROFESSIONAL

So I had mispelled (can you believe it with my awesome spelling) the PR persons name in Noir.  And therefore couldn't find him with the Eve locator.

But I found the error of my ways, and shot him the same email that I had for Noir website.

To my suprise and unreadiness, he was ready to answer questions. But he didn't have a skype account. He wanted to use Ventrilo.

Are you ready for my awesome Vent expertise?  Here it is comes...... I have downloaded/installed the program. Just  this past month I have log on to Blood of Khaless where no one would talk. And recently House of Mog, where I convinced a guy to look at Eve. And that's it.

So I look at the setup tab. No luck. I googled audacity recording through vent. Found some funky but non informing web sites.  Getting frustrated I went back and asked Noir where the settings are. He said under View -> record/playback.  But there is no view option in the setup tab.

You  know he has to be groaning about noobs with press badges on.

I try google one more time and find a you tube link. After watching, I was able to record a test.

By now, my time limit was up. And I didn't even have my questions organized.

The good news was that Noir is very helpful. So I am shooting for the interview Tue/Weds.

I did get home and get the notes in sequence. So at least I will not be completely scattered brain.

I am also starting the NOTALOTTANEWS newshour show. There is no video, but this is at least a trail run.

I owe, I owe. It's off to mining I go.

Finished up the first recording of Noir.  Have the second one recorded but not edited. No word back from PR yet. But that isn't suprising. I looked for him online (in Eve).  But didn't find him.  Still working on the questions.

Star defender asked what does a miner do while crunching rocks. This just so conisides with last night.

Side note. My CEO friend let me back in his Corp.

Was convinced, pretty easily, to go back to mining to get some cash for the next purchase. So last night, I mined for roughly 4 hours. Made 2 1/2 Orca loads of dense veldspar. For the first hour or do I did some research on Noir.providence. Working on the interview. Checked skype to see how to record. Check eve voice to find that I can't record on that one.

After dinner the wife and I watch Stargate Universe. And I mined.  Man, I love DVRs. I also really enjoy SGU. I would love to blog about it. But I cannot seem to describe my reasoning.  To sum it up, SGU isn't pretty. People are being forced to deal with each other. And no one plays nice, except Eli.

Around bed time I threw in the movie Push and rub my wifes head for a hour. (and mined). In the end - I know I could have made alot more isk in level 4s. But I wouldn't have been able to enjoy anything else.

My wife hates me playing STO at bed time. Since I have to steer and continually spam the space bar. Hard to sleep when - click click click click click is 3 inches from your ear. Plus no rubbings. She much prefers mining. Though she thinks it's the most boring thing in the world.

You can also do house chores and such. Hence I love mining, but I stay out of low/null sec.

My attempt at reporting

Well I signed up for NOIR. forums. I am trying to get an interview, preferbly on Skype ,for the podcast.  I have 2 reads to do : one from Eve tribune, another from a blog written by A. Karrde.  And to finish it off an interview. I think that would be a good idea. I might even ask Podded if they want the final product.

I don't really need the head boss.  I am more than willing to just talk to a PR guy.

Some ideas are :
What is the citizen corp going to be called?

Will there be a dedicated forum?

Why 4 systems vice 2?

Karrde said that if the system gets hit while they are gone - they will finish the contract and then come back with unholy vengence. But that does not include small gang raid right?  I am assuming that all the 0.0 holders want people to fight. They just dont want Sov contested. So if I am mining and the neighbor next door hanks me - shut up and get over it. I assume that is the basic rule.

Even though I stated it here, I really want to stay away from "will you protect me" style questions. Cause the answer is clear - no. You want safety go back to empire ( that is where I live ).  I want more infrastructure questions.  Contact info - stuff like that.

If anyone does read this blog I would REALLY appreciate any input to questions I need.

I am sure I will atleast attempt this. If I fall flat on my face and make a horrible farce of my attempt at journalism.  I will report here first.

Level Cap, commision, and Noir.

Funny how yesterday I didn't really have a story, and today so many ideas are going around that I will miss some.

First I hit level cap in STO (Star Trek Online) yesterday. And I thought for todays' title being "why STO is better then EVE" would stir people up. The thing that STO has going for it is the quick turn around of missions. I can grab a 3 part mission and do one part in less the 30 minutes. And if I want to wait a week or two that is fine. In Eve, they also have missions, but you have no idea if the one coming up is 15 minutes or 6 hours. And you get a penalty to the reward if you don't complete them NOW. Overall adding to the stress. Where as STO has a more relaxed pace.

All that said. I should get commision on getting people to try Eve. I have gotten 3 people into eve and 2 more to look into it. I met a guy in the STO guild's vent chat yesterday. After a few minutes of chat, I mention about bouncing from eve to sto. He wanted to know more about Eve, since he had heard of it. He likes Pvp and spaceships. And he likes to think about new ways to fight - hmmmm sounds like the perfect null sec pilot to me. I talked about how skills work and how every ship in game is important. He said he would look into it.

Something I recommend anyone either thinking about Eve or talking to people about Eve - have them listen to Podded podcasts. Storytime with Dillion is a great way to get people motivated into playing Eve.

 Here is a link :   http://poddedpodcast.com/

Final thought. Noir. is taking over a portion of Providence. They want to form their own citizens wing. The ol' play in 0.0 space rised up briefly. But I quickly beat it back down.

Will probably read that article for the podcasts.

Short Commercial break

Well the movie thing for blogspot isn't something I will do alot of, I believe. 100 megs is a pretty short film. But it is another free feature.

Todays news is pretty dry. Missioning level 3s in a Drake is not a real page turner. I'm not saying that my blog is fabulous, but this is worse then normal.

Kirith over at Ninveah.com ( Edited for DOH! factor ) is just a plain awesome writer. I was reading about his misadventures in moving. Something I shudder at myself. His ability to grab your intrest and make you laugh and cringe is inspiring. Their are many other blogs out there that I read - threw capsuleer - that give testament to being inspired to try after reading Kiriths accounts.

this is just a test

I see I can upload a video.... how does that work... hmmm

Just a lay over - Planetary Interaction

Yep, failed at Planetary Interaction and it isnt even released yet.

I wanted to see what the new graphics looked like and just spend 30 minutes goofing around.

First, was another download. Hour later, I pop back in to my Widow (yeah SiSi), and look around for my little factory. It is gone. So I run over next door and get 2 Planetary Control Commands (PCCs). Run out to a local planet and find that I have temperate PCCs and it was an Ice planet. No Temperates in system, so back to Adiere.

Last planet I found a temperate... yeah team! Get there, cloak, and go into planetary mode.

This time I noticed that My ship interface is gone. hold on... let me take some pics.

ooppss. got distracted with the 100 isk prices. Decided to look at an Abaddon and try to fit it.

Found that CCP gives you 5 of each type of PCC expect Temperate... I chose Storm - cause its cool ;)

I grabbed a few photos. Nothing no one hasn't seen before. But I do have a question.

here I am going cloaky in a HUGE ship....

ooo, you might not see me. But how can you miss a floating barn in space?

Big thing here is notice the normal GUI. It has the familiar selction of Shield/armor/structure. Plus Capacitor indication.

Now here - (next slide please)

Here you can see it is completely gone. Now while this is on SiSi and can be modified at any time. It does lead to speculation. Will you be attacked while in Planetary Mode. I can imagine that the pirates will cry foul if their helpless prey cant be hit while in PI. But even in this short little encounter with the planet... It takes time, thought, and energy to get a setup. To not know if you are being pounded upon.. that can be scary. Even if you are removed from Eve proper. What happens when you exit planet mode and their is 4 pirates off you port bow. Do you get the 10 seconds of cloaky? will be intresting.

A few other tidbits.

By the way you have to click on the submit button before you can do anything else. I know this seems like it is idiot-proof. But never underestimate the power of an idiot. I'm not going to tell you how I know.

You also have the extractor

There are now multiple selections for extractors. This is where the planet scanning would help. But today it seem to say "Sorry Charlie" (for those youngsters... that is a commercial catch phrase). Still they do look sweet. I just wish I could zoom in even further.

and last, but way not least is the factory.

You can now choose lots of different schematics for various items.

Well I hope you have a good day, and I will see you tomorrow.

Aww, come one. Let me shoot one!

I was able to hook up with my CEO friend again. He is graciously allowing me back into the corp... just need to finish a few errands first.

We ran around doing level 2s. Mainly due to him working on R&D faction. When we would get to the kill zone, I couldnt target them fast enough before he killed them. Him in his high and mighty Tech3 Proteous. Little bastard wouldnt even stop for air. It was like watching popcorn on the screen the rats blew up so fast.

But I got some payback ;)

I told him I could get level 4s and such. But the next level 4 was 16 jumps out, while there was a level 3 quality 18 next door. So laziness won over greed, and I grab a mission. Now my drake has roughly 63/71/82/85 resists to damage and I threw in a shield booster. So during then entire fight I got down to 98.5% shields. With roughly 6 to 10 cruisers pounding me. While my Proteous friend went from shields to armor rather quickly and then to 1/2 armor and then warp out. Made me feel just a wee bit better. He was set for gank, and I am trying to figure out a sleeper fit.

~{-}~

I also notice that my 2 ECMs were not doing a darn thing. I select 2 that were under optimal range and painted them, but they were still firing at me. The entire fight - I left them to see if it would ever work. So after he logged and it was bed time, I ran around and spent the money that I should have saved on other things.

Note: you cannot have more then 1 Damage control module on a ship. Just a little FYI.

I ended up with high slots : 6 heavys t1 (skills off by a sliver)

med slots : 2 inv field (t2), shield booster (t2), 2 boost the booster (t2), and a cap extender (t1)(cause the booster is a hog)

Low slots : I got my 2 Ballistic Control Units (t2) back, Damage control (t2), and a power coil (cause the booster is a hog)

Havent re-done the rigs yet: but we will see when I am off the poor boy floor..... yeah right ....

Still it was enough to let me think about it today as I work on plumbing... I am almost as good or plumber as I am a scanner.... have a mention my scanning skillz ?

Sorry Star

Had a few thoughts and now they are gone.....

My good friend and former CEO who I turned traitor to and set up my own Corp ( turned out to be a mistake ), has come back for awhile. He is working on R$D faction - and I need my alt to get into that.

That meant jumping around trying to get to him as he moved. By the time I got there I only had 15 or so minutes left.  But that was enough time for a mission. And once again it was proven to me - playing the game with others is more fun the soloing.  It's a shocker I know.

Get home a few hours later and was hoping to run a few more missions with my friend. But he wasn't on - ooooo Star Defender was hey hey!!  I have a few questions for him, sweet!!

So I open convo with a " hello are you busy ".  Since I have no idea what type of storm he is in. And I wait, and I wait, I go get dinner, and I wait, I eat dinner, and I wait. Ok no problem he is either afk - hope he is safe. Sleeper killing - don't need the distraction. Or defending himself - definetly doesnt need the distraction.

Well few minutes after I close the convo he shows up. And he remembers me, that is the amazing part. I started my rambling of hello. Never quite got to my question and he had another visitor. Unwelcome visitor.

While he is away I find a wormhole myself..,.  Have I mention my scanning skills.? Or lack there of?  It's a class 3(boo). But I pop in to see a tengu and a Thanatos ratting. I open up local with a comment about carriers being overkill ( I thougt it was funny ). But no response. About 3 minutes later I tell them they have a high sec opening to Bereye which is 2 jumps from Ourselant.

By this time Star defender has lost his main and alt to vandals.  That is right I called you vandals!  He has the story on his site.
----------------------:)------------>
I offer my help. He wiesly says no. It's not that I am going to gank him or turn traitor to him. It is more like I will be all Gilligan ( Gilligan Isle ) in a fight then anything else.  Only not so funny.

So I wish him the best.

I was wanting to talk to him about creating a FAQ sheet on his blog. So I can reference it when I ask the same question I had 10 months ago.

Also I have been playing around with a drake. I got the resists to 80/84/87/90. But that was 2 inv fields, each type of shield hardners (4 total) and a damage control. All T2. But after listening to the drone bay - where they mention about a drake with ECM. I want to try that route. So I threw off my shield hardners. That drop my resists to 60/63/71/80. I was curious if that was good enough or plain suicide. Obviously Star Defender was a little busy. This morning I ran a level 2 mission - weak I know, but it was close by - and with 12 to 15 frigates flying around 4 ecms doesn't really do a whole lot.

Plan K - I drop 2 ecms and put in a shield booster with a boost to the booster. And my Cap cried foul.... Sigh. To get cap stable again I had to drop the 2 ballistic contol units (t2) and pick up 3 power inverters.

Tried to finish the mission  - but forgot about the 2nd room. Then I ran out of time this morning. So it will have to wait till tonight.

Goggles myself

Decided to look for more NC vs SC updates by using google. I was suprised to see my podcast holding the no. 2 slot. That is just plain weird.

Worked on the podbean website for a bit. Finally got off my dead hump and brought the other podcasts that I listen to up there.  Ohhh I just remember - I forgot to list the two that I don't listen to.  I need to run do that after this blog.

Tried to get the banner on the site to be more eve like, but it was epic fail. Epic. So I just reset it to default.

Also no joy on finding other updates. I did find the thread that linked a YouTube video on a lag death from the current war - birth to epic rage. Funny the FC sounds like the guy that Podded had on awhile back about hot dropping his single carrier into an Agony Unleashed fleet. He went from god to rage in about 5 minutes.

If someone knows a link I would be happy to read it. I am truly neutral in this entire war. But I do wonder if the Goons will stop their shinanigans and form back up and take back space with IT thouroughly occupied in the north.

It seemed like a good idea at the time

Nothing to exciting happen.

So I wrote a post already. Like so many times before i write on my notepad for the iPhone then copy over.

But this leaves the post still there. So the next day I have to backup, delete it, and create a new note.  While this is simple, it is a little hassle that I found a work around. Instead of copying I use cut. This means that the next day I have a fresh clean page to spit out random thoughts on.

Seem like a good idea at the time...  Worked for 3 days. But today, after playing with the picture load I wanted more.

Almost 6 months ago some co-workers got online and googled Fail pics. They are hilarious. I told myself if I start blogging that is what I want to do. Well 6 weeks into this and nothing.

I thought I couldn't do it from my iPhone. Thinking that you had to download the picture, then upload it to blogspot. But there is a web link. To do that I need to copy 'n paste ( see where this is going ).

It seem to work great!  The picture said it uploaded fine. But it wouldn't drop it into my nicely written screen. A few missteps and poof the screen is blank and my cut 'n paste is now the internet address. My post is gone.

So it's back to plan D. Guess deleting yesterdays writings isn't so bad.

Trying to Blog with a Picture

Ok, Well after reading Kirith's latest article on skills, I was curious if I could get my skill sheet up here.

Really this is more for trial of pictures then anything else.

So without further ado...

Acinom Picture.

Honestly I didnt realize when I made her that I would be seeing just a thumbprint for the rest of my life. So I chose the outfit cause it had the most cleavage... which was promptly cropped out at the end of character development. (who says devs dont have a sense of humor). And the black ring in the background makes her look like a bad hair do when looking at it in a 64x64 thumbprint day after day. But still that is the pic I chose.

Onto skills...

This just goes to show I am all over the place. Learning and Navigation are completely maxed out. Drones is about 75% done. Was starting to work on Gunnery - as of today I have all the support skills to 5, but I am still way off what is expected.

The part that still makes me shake my head is it now costs me 35 mil every time I die - for a new clone. So that means a fitted Cruiser costs less then my clone. I guess CCP expects me to be rich by now... too bad I didnt get that memo.

Drone bay is back! ( and other random thoughts )

Wow drone bay is back. Hope they last more then one podcast this time.

Still working on scanning. I have only found 3 wormholes. 1 to another high sec. 2 to occupied wormholes.

The drake is proving to be intresting. Still curious if I can get all my resist above 90%. Doubt it, but still it keeps my thoughts occupied.

Another random direction I was thinking about is -  going to low sec. My last Corp was based out of Solitude while I stayed in empire. My one visit to his system was a 14 jump through low sec space. He chose this route to prevent any bubble camps. I was amazed at how low the population was in the jumps.

I was thinking of getting a base of operations next to this corridor and making trips in there. This is all in preperation for planetary interaction, which they say low sec will be more profitable then high sec. At least till Dust514 comes out.

For me the area around the corridor has no friendly npc corps. Which bites. That has been my biggest stumbling block against me just moving out there. Still with PI coming. I need to scout.

The other problem is that STO is actually fun still.  That eats up my time.

Funny how things work, huh?

Comment Monitoring

Too funny,

I have told 3 people about this blog. My wife, kirith, and a RL friend. Kirith and my friend have graced me with a comment.

Honestly, this has turned more into my venting and commenting blog, then anything worth while. But that's ok, I am seeing if I can keep my goal of 1 blog a day average for a month.

This lead me to be really suprised when I got a comment. I was very excited - since it never happens. Only to find out it is an ISK spammer. Even here, Eve's dark side pulls me back in.

And to top it all off, I didn't have the verification up before posting. So I can't delete it.

All in all, a life lesson in blogging.

Ding! General 3

Hmm, I guess first off that the bug for completing 1/3 of the cardassians mission for captain does not carry over to admiral.

Second, since swapping out the beam arrays (250 degrees ) from the turrents (360 degrees ) my survivabilty has gone up tremendously.

Third, after that one patrol mission I have just done exploration of star clusters.

Four, I have finally been doing away missions. And I encountered a problem with my bridge officers. While many people have different designs on their BOs. I decided to have an all female crew. And since I have access to the Orion race. 1 + 1 = fantasy. Well over the course of gathering my crew I haven't really cared for what they are wearing. After the 3rd ( last ) ground mission, the next time I  was at the home world I decided to change that.

I followed common Star Trek coloring. But also change the outfits enough for quick recognition.

For tactical - I wanted purple, but that option wasn't there. So I chose red instead. And for ease I chose wing tip shoulder pads.

For engineering - I went tan with small shoulder pads and a sash for distinction.

Lastly, science was blue with no upper items.

Hopefully this will help me on the ground.

Finally, I started earning dailies for getting the purple ( ultra rare ) items to outfit my characters and ships.

400 subscribers and climbing

Since no one reads this blog, I feel no problem saying yet again.

I am amazed at the people who subscribe to my podcast. I just broke 400. That is pushing 10 people a day. It's amazing, considering that I have had no advertisement at all. And I don't have any cool stories or insight.

I kept waiting for the subscriber base to drop off.

I am happy to admit I am no Dillon Arcklight or War Childe, but it is still humbling to see people actually want to listen.

I ran into a snag with the video. I ran out of money. With my eve account coming due soon, I am needing to save up for that. Then there is the $150 software then another $100 camera. Overall alot of money for a bad setup. Still I keep thinking it would be funny if I can pull it off.

Good evening. I'm Puss'n Boots. And I did not do it; it was the one arm man.

Every show will be a different intro person with "and"   Then something zany. All delivered straight face and neutral tone. Chevy Chase's anchorman meets Sci-Fi.

 one day.   One day

Yet, another scanning blog

Hehe,
I have developed a routine where I write my thoughts in the morning while I am doing computer maintenance.  (computer does all the hard lifting).   But this morning I get onto capsuleer and start reading blog posts. The computer is almost done and I just realized I forgot to spit out my random thought.

Inside the game of eve, It always seemed to me that the people who blog are rich. They talk about the last billion isk they have. So, let me be clear. I'm broke. I will probably always be broke. I want to spend a whole more then I make.

I had just mined roughly 8 hours total to get up to 66 mil isk. Not a gripe, just stating that I have less than 100 mil. It is a choice to mine high sec while watching tv with the wife.   Anyway, I was still thinking of my friend who made 400 mil in 3 hours vice my 8 hours of 60 mil. So I decided to try again my hand at sleepers, again

I bought 2 battlecruisers. A drake and a prophecy. Fitted them with my spare parts ( I had 2800 widowmaker heavy missles laying around) and went out.

Did I mention I bomb at scanning. Not really my character, but me. On board scanner showed nothing so I threw out a 32 AU probe and got 2 rat hang outs and 5 faint signatures. I have never really fought in a non drone boat well before. But I decided to try my hand with the drake. It was supprising simple. I goofed around for awhile with fittings and stuff. Killed both sites, but didn't loot anything.

Since then I have dropped a missle rack and picked up a salvager. Now it is 6 missle racks, 1 salvager, and 1 probe launcher. Not the best I know, but it is a utility option.

Went back to scanning, and spent 30 minutes with nothing to show for it.  This morning before eve closed on me I had a 15 minute window. I was able to scan down a serpentis hideout with 45 sec left of game time. Hope it is still there when I get back.

Overall it was enjoyable playing with the drake.

And the

So the carrier is a flying Walmart.  Everyone talk about the tank it has, but to me it was less then flying a captain Bird of Prey.  It might be because I did fit 6 turrents on it and they just don't have the omph like I want.

The fighters are uncontrollable. And they scatter anywhere they go. They also race ahead, so by the time you get there the mob has chewed threw 4 of the 5 fighters.  The bird of prey is just a flying target. Overall a pretty big let down.

I grab the Teir 5 Bird of Prey and will see how it does. But I got tired of STO by  then and just poped up a mining op in Eve.

Curses, foiled again

What luck...... Sigh

My wife decides I deserved a break last night from the grandkids. All I had to do was run them by her work when she got off and she would take them to the play they are in. Then I could have the rest of the night off... Huzah!!

That was the plan. Well she got caught up in work and our wonderful babysitter (for the youngest) needed to leave. So I ended up taking the grandkids to the church play. After everything settled down to a dull roar - my wife and I went out to dinner.

Then it was home!!!  All I needed was 2 sets of cardassians and I had my carrier!!!   I get home, feed the dog, grab my computer.  And star trek launcher fails. Try again. Fails. Reboot computer. Fails. So now I get to reload software. Then they have that 6.2 gig patch. For the rest of the night it is patching.

And just to add insult to injury they had it down for maintenance this morning. This evening everyone is off and this weekend is the play. That means none to little time to play

  Curses!!!!

Mog

Isn't there a god named Mog in Wahammer Fantasy?

Got a blind invite to join a team. Just ended up being a quiet guy that ran around shooting everything and I just chased him. After the set it was dinner time, but he threw me a guild invite to join House of Mog.

Unlike LORE there are 72 members total vice 12. And the second time I showed back up there were people on line.

Unlike Blood of Khaless they actually invited me. Mog is still looking for a vent server or Teamspeak. Intrestingly, they want to listen to their members. So it does seem like a low key - high fun guild.

With the patch day come and gone. The mission bug is still there. Just hit C10 last night. Now I am really chomping on the bit for my carrier. Then off to a few star clusters and maybe try to get a handle on the new guild.
