In case someone else missed it.
I jumped on SiSi with both characters to see if you disappear when you go into planet mode. Since your ships info goes away.
Short and sweet (well sour) nope.. You are a floating target that doesnt even have your shield, armor, structure to tell you when you've been hit. That means you could have a pirate drop drones out and sweep the area to uncloak you. Then pop you. I do not know when you lose your ship or pod if you are pulled out of planetary mode.
Not really that into killing myself. Its a personal thing.
